Honoring Traditional Custodians
We're proud to honor the traditional custodians of Cloncurry and support Indigenous communities across Australia through our partnership programs and charity initiatives.
At Gear 4 U, we recognise the profound cultural heritage of Australia's First Peoples and integrate this respect into our community-focused values.
Cloncurry, known traditionally as Pimurra, is the ancestral land of the Mitakoodi people (the River people), along with neighboring groups such as the Kalkadoon, Yulluna, Waluwarra, Pitta Pitta, and Mayi peoples. We acknowledge their ongoing connection to Country, including their stories, traditions, and living cultures that span tens of thousands of years.
Our brand draws inspiration from radiant Aboriginal dot art, featuring intricate patterns in bold colors that symbolise movement, land connection, and cultural vitality. This is reflected in our Aboriginal-inspired logo variations, which incorporate the Australian continent symbol with traditional dot motifs, honoring Indigenous artistry while aligning with our modern, adventurous brand.
Creating community-driven benefits to the Aboriginal community through meaningful action and partnership
Job creation and training programs in regional areas supporting Indigenous employment opportunities.
Supporting projects that preserve cultural knowledge and promote health and wellbeing in communities.
Fostering development with Indigenous organisations, ensuring self-determination and cultural respect.
Every purchase at Gear 4 U contributes to these efforts, helping build trust and long-term relationships. We prioritise meaningful consultation and empowerment over imposed solutions, drawing from best practices in Australian Indigenous engagement.
Join us in supporting Australia's Indigenous communities.
